Dev Roopa Trek near Manali is one of the most offbeat treks in the Himalayas! The majestic mountains and the beauty of the place will leave you speechless! The alluring trails of the trek take you all the way through the Malana Valley in Himachal Pradesh. The Malana Village is said to be an ancient village, where the locals consider themselves to be the successors of Alexander! They have a very distinct culture and traditions, and the village is ruled by just one powerful deity! It will be an amazing experience to trek through that village! It is an unusual escapade all together and to experience that you have to pay a visit to this unique Himalayan village!

We will start our adventure from Kasol Base Camp, a famous tourist spot in Himachal Pradesh. You can also take a bus till Manali which passes through Kullu, and get down at Patlikuhal which is 20 kms from Kullu and take a cab from there. We will drive to Malana Dam and trek to Behali from there. Our next stop will be Bogdi which serves as a Base Camp for Dev Roopa Trek. Few steep climbs along the stream will take you to Dev Roopa; beautiful place is around the size of 5 footballs grounds, and the zig zag water streams make it look marvellous! If you haven’t already started trekking in the Himalayas then Dev Roopa Trek would be the best to start with!

Day

Arrive at Kasol Base Camp, a famous tourist spot in Himachal.Buses from Delhi and Chandigarh are easily available to reach the place. reporting time will be 06:00 AM and will continue till 05:00 PM. We will spend the day acclimatising at Kasol Base Camp by taking a walk to the surrounding areas and trying out adventure activities like rappelling and rock climbing. Spend the night at Kasol Base Camp.

We will start early morning with a jeep ride from Base Camp to Malana Dam. We will start our trek to Malana village today, which is an easy trail. Trekkers will get to experience the magic valley of Malana. We will camp by the Malana River.

Today is an easy day of walk. We will leave early morning to reach Behali by afternoon. We will camp on the left side of River Malana.

Today will be the longest walk during the trek as it will take around 7 hours to reach the campsite at Bogdi. It serves as the Base Camp for Dev Roopa Trek. Spend the day and night at Bogdi.

After an early morning breakfast, we will start trekking to Dev Roopa. After 3 steep climbs of one hour each we will finally reach our destination. Admire the beauty of the place, and have packed lunch at Dev Roopa. After lunch, we will start trekking down to Bogdi and stay overnight.

Today we will start early after breakfast and reach Watching Village by afternoon. We will take a lunch break at Chota Grahan and then we will head towards Watching village which will be our campsite for the night.

Today we will descend to Malana dam from where we will drive to Manikaran to take a holy dip in the popular hot water spring to flex our tired muscles. Later we will depart from Kasol or Bhuntar.

Instructions for Participants

  • Medical certificate for fitness for doing Himalayan Trek is mandatory
  • Separate tents for boys and girls
  • Raincoat, good trekking shoes and 1 pair thermal inner wear is must
  • Smoking, drinking & consumption of illicit substances is strictly prohibited
  • Buying of any illegal material is strictly prohibited, the participant will be detained and handed over to government authority
